Picosecond response of optical nonlinearity in a GaAs/AlGaAs asymmetric triple quantum well structure
The optical nonlinearity in a GaAs/AlGaAs asymmetric triple quantum well structure is studied with the picosecond pump-probe method. The rise time of the transmission change after the input of the pump (excitation) optical pulse is found to be as short as 6 ps at 77 K, which is attributed to the tunnelling transfer of photo-excited electrons near the triple resonance of the electronic states.
