새로운 형태의 액정고분자
New Type of Liquid Crystal Polymer
초록
Cyanoazobenzene계 액정화합물을 측쇄로 가진 α-helical polypeptide를 합성했으며 이 고분자는 rigid rod인 α-helix주쇄와 측쇄에 액정화합물이 triple helix형태로 부착된 새로운 형태의 sidechain액정화합물일 것으로 추정된다. 열적 성질을 측정한 결과thermotropic 성질을 가지고 있음이 확인되었으며 X-선회절 조사결과 측쇄가 상당한 규칙적 배열을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Polypeptide with cyanoazobenzene liquid crystal sidechains was synthesized. This polymer which supposed to have a rigid rod main chain and triple helical liquid crystal sidechains, can form a new type of main-sidechain liquid crystal polymer. Thermal properties showed that this polymer was thermotropic liquid crystal polymer and X-ray diffraction pattern showed that sidechains had high regular arrangement.
