Compressive mechanical response of a low-density epoxy foam at various strain rates
We experimentally obtained compressive stress-strain response of a low-density epoxy foam at various strain rates. In particular, compressive stress-strain behavior at intermediate strain rates that has not been previously well understood were characterized by using a modified MTS and a split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB). Strain rate effects on the modulus of elasticity and cell-collapse stress for this low-density epoxy foam were determined.
