Local mass transfer measurements in a bubble column using an electrochemical technique
The purpose of this work is to demonstrate that the conductivity method can be used to study the volumetric mass transfer coefficients in a bubble column. The absorption Process Of CO2 in diethanolamine solutions was carried out in a prismatic column 0.06 In side and 1.03 m height. Measurements were conducted at various gas flow rates and amine concentration. The local mass transfer was found to vary significantly in the axial direction. An empirical model was developed to account for experimental data. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
