Rapid and deep nitridation of silica MCM-41 without loss of hexagonal pore structure
The nitridation of mesoporous silica MCM-41 with ammonia was carried out by using a plug flow-type reactor. The degree of nitridation was dependent on the amount of NH3 supplied. Mesoporous silicon oxynitride containing 34 wt % of nitrogen could be prepared at 1273 K for 8 h, and the hexagonal mesoporous structure was maintained.
