The United Kingdom Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions is supporting work to determine the sources, extent and means of reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the United Kingdom non-domestic building stock. A database of energy use in non-domestic buildings is being assembled for this work. This paper describes the methods of data collection, analysis and interpretation which are being used and illustrates some of the results which have been produced.
