Hydrogenation of calcium carbonate in aqueous systems catalyzed by Rh(I)- and Ru(II)-complexes using poly(methylhydrosiloxane) or hypophosphite as hydrogen sources
The two abundant natural carbon sources, calcium carbonate and carbon dioxide were combined under mild conditions to yield calcium formate and formic acid upon reduction in aqueous systems using poly(methylhydrosiloxane) or sodium hypophosphite as reductants with Rh(I)- and Ru(II)-complexes of monosulfonated triphenylphosphine as catalysts.
