We derive the general electrodynamic relations for useful power generated by individual cell in a fuel cell stack and for power loss in a bipolar plate. The practical calculations with these relations are illustrated with the specially constructed one-dimensional case. The results are valid for stack of the cells of any type. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd.
