Crude deposits that are substantially more viscous than other oils and do not flow, or cannot be pumped without being heated or diluted. And then industry defines bitumen as having an API gravity of less than 10°. Therefore, Includes impurities like sulphur, heavy metals, waxes and carbon residue that require removal prior to refining. In this study, we investigated the variation of physical and chemical characteristics of oil sand by extraction and distillation experiments using lab-scale equipment.
