Chamcteristics of fly ash genemted from Oxy-coal combustion boiler
One of the ways to face the abatement of CO2 emissions in power plants is the combustion of coal using oxy-fuel technology. In this case coal would be burned in a O2/CO2 atmosphere and
the flue gas would consist mainly of CO2 which after condensation of water could be quasi-ready
for storage. Most of the work related to oxy-fuel combustion has been applied to high volatile coa ls. In this study, characteristics of fly ash generated after high volatile bituminous coal was fired at drop tube furnace (DTF) boiler under oxy-fuel conditions were investigated. A drop tube furnace (DTF) operated at 1,100 ℃ with oxygen concentration ranging from 15 to 38% has been used to prepare the fly ash. The results indicated that characteristics of the fly ash generated from oxy-fuel boiler were similar to it of existence air coal fired boiler
