임팩트PP/EPM/EPDM 삼성분 불렌드의 유변학 및 기계적 물성
The Rheological and Mechanical Properties of Impact-PP/EPM/EPDM Ternary Blends
초록
본 연구에서는 임팩트폴리프로필렌(임팩트PP)/EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) 이성분계 블렌드, 임팩트PP/EPM (ethylene propylene monomer)/EPDM 삼성분계 블렌드를 각각 제조하고 이의 유변학적 성질과 기계적 성질을 살펴보고 서로 비교하였다. 본 연구에서는 2가지 종류의 서로 다른 분자량을 지닌 EPM, 즉 EPMα (KEP020P)와 EPMβ(KEP070P)를 사용하였다. 살펴본 기계적 물성으로는 인장강도, 신율, 굴곡 탄성률 및 충격 강도 등이 있으며 impact 시편의 파단면을 관찰하기 위해 SEM을 사용하였다. 임팩트PP/EPDM과 PP/EPMα/EPDM의 기계적 물성을 비교하였을 때 임팩트 PP/EPDM이 전반적인 물성에서 우수하였으며, 임팩트PP/EPMα(혹은 EPMβ)/EPDM 삼성분계 블렌드에서는 임팩트PP/EPMβ/EPDM이 인장강도, 신율, 충격 강도에서 보다 나은 물성을 나타내었다.
In this article, the rheological and mechanical properties of EPDM/impact-polypropylene(impact-PP) binary blends and impact-PP/EPM/EPDM ternary blends were discussed. Two kinds of EPM having different M. W., EPMβ, were used. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation, flexural modulus and Izod impact were evaluation. The mechanical properties for the impact-PP/EPDM binary blends were found to be generally better than those for impact-PP/EPMαβ/EPDM ternary blends. In the comparison between impact-PP/EPMα/EPDM and impact-PP/EPMβ/EPDM were better than those for impact-PP/EPMα/EPDM suggesting the properties of rubbery component are domination factor in determining binary or tertiary blends containing impact-PP.
