GLYCEROL DERIVATIVES AS FUEL COMPONENTS
Glycerolethers, glycerolesters, and glycerolacetals are useful components in gasolines. A selection of these derivatives and their gasoline tests are discussed. Particularly the mixture of ethers from glycerol and isobutene is interesting. Its blend octanenumber is comparable with the value of other oxygenates e.g. MTBE.
