Platinum-catalyzed generation of silylenes from hydrodisilanes and their addition to alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones
The reaction of hydrodisilanes with alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones in the presence of a platinum catalyst gave high yields of oxasilacyclopentenes, which are probably formed by the addition of silylenes to the enones. Treatment of the oxasilacyclopentenes with methyllithium followed by hydrolysis gave the corresponding beta-silyl ketones.
