[GRAPHICS] Free or mesh-supported nanomats can easily be developed by this novel application of the electrospinning technique in which electrospun nanofibers are neutralized with a cloud of electrospray-generated small counterions. The fibers condense into dense micrometer-thick nanomats because of the attraction between opposite charges on its sides (see figure).
