Solubility of Cholesterol in Selected Organic-Solvents
The solubilities of cholesterol have been determined experimentally in six solvents - benzene, toluene, cyclohexane, 1,2-dichloroethane, trichloromethane and tetrachloromethane - by a dynamic method in the temperature range 290-350 K. The large influence of the solute-solvent interaction on the temperature of the cholesterol solid-solid phase transition has been observed. The results have been correlated by the Wilson equation, UNIQUAC theory and the UNIQUAC association solution model.
