Application of LaSr2Fe2CrO9-delta in solid oxide fuel cell anodes
The oxide composition LaSr2Fe2CrO9-delta was tested for application as an anode material for solid oxide fuel cells. Despite the high Fe content, this composition was found to be stable under SOFC anode conditions up to similar to 800 degrees C. The composite anode LaSr2Fe2CrO9-delta-Gd0.1Ce0.9O2-delta was tested in Gd0.1Ce0.9O2-delta and La0.9Sr0.1Ga0.8Mg0.2O3-delta electrolyte-supported cells in air and humidified H-2. The maximum power density was approximate to 365 mW/cm(2) at 800 degrees C, with a corresponding total cell resistance of approximate to 0.69 Omega cm(2). However, the anode polarization resistance at 800 degrees C was approximate to 0.25 Omega cm(2).
