In situ electropolymerization of DNA-templated aniline assemblies on a gold surface
Self-assembled DNA was used as a template for the formation of conjoined polyaniline-DNA oligomers by in situ electropolymerization under mild conditions on a gold surface. The oligoanilines that result have redox properties characteristic of conducting polymers. This in situ electropolymerization may find application in the development of nanometer-scale electrical connections and highly sensitive biosensors.
