Models for Excess Properties of Electrolyte-Solutions - Molecular-Bases and Classification, Needs and Trends for New Developments
New general and predictive models for excess properties of electrolyte solutions are needed to satisfy the needs of correlations of thermodynamic properties for design of industrial processes. Seven types of models are surveyed : corresponding states, multiparameter regression, local composition, equation of state, solvation function, solvation and association equilibria and solvation theory. Features which seem desirable in the development of new models are indicated.
