Mineral-Coated Polymer Microspheres for Controlled Protein Binding and Release
Polymer microspheres with a bonelike mineral coating are generated via a biomimetic process, and this biodegradable coating is used as a carrier for delivery of biological molecules. Acidic and basic proteins are controllably bound and released from these microspheres, suggesting that this approach can be used for binding and delivery of a broad range of biologically active molecules.
