The new concept of coal processing in the structured fluidized phase was investigated experimentally. The technique proposed is based on coal particles fluidization within voids of non-fluidized spherical elements (packed bed). The process of coal carbonization has been performed at low severity conditions (ambient pressure, temperature about 550 degrees C) and with a coal feeding rate of 1.7-12 g/s. Properties of the carbonization products are presented in Tables 2-4.
