Chromium (III) catalyzed selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides using 30% H2O2
Chromium (III) is used as an efficient, recyclable catalyst for selective oxidation of sulfides. The reactions were carried out in 60% acetonitrile (v/v) using 30% H2O2. Chromium (III) forms complex with sulfides which is then oxidized by H2O2 to form sulfoxides.
