Critical Influence of BaCO3 on Low Temperature Catalytic Activity of BaCO3/ZrO2 Catalysts for Oxidative Coupling of Methane
During low temperature oxidative coupling of methane reaction, the content of BaCO3 has an important influence on the catalytic performance. The CH4 conversion and C-2 selectivity improved with the increase of the BaCO3 content. Under ignition conditions, the 7.5% BaCO3/ZrO2 catalyst had the best catalytic activity in which the 35.4% CH4 conversion and 29.5% C-2 selectivity could be obtained at 250 A degrees C. The temperature profiles of reactor have been described and found that the distribution of hot spots on catalyst bed is related to the low temperature activity of catalyst.
