Microstructure and temperature-dependent magnetic properties of Co/Pt multilayered nanowires
Co/Pt multilayered nanowires were fabricated by pulse electrodeposition inside nanoporous anodized alumina templates. Their microstructural characteristics and temperature-dependent magnetic properties were investigated in detail. It was found that the crystallinity of Pt segments was better than that of Co segments. In addition, interfacial alloying was observed at Pt/Co interfaces. Magnetic measurements revealed that the saturation magnetization of as-prepared Co/Pt multilayered nanowires as a function of temperature follows T-3/2 law. A nonlinear and abnormal temperature dependence of coercivity was observed, which could be attributed to the contributions from thermal activation, dipolar interaction and magnetoelastic anisotropy.
