The title cyclic compound with an intraarmular ethyl group was synthesized by macrocyclization with the Eglinton coupling and its enantiomers were resolved by chiral HPLC. The high barrier to racemization is discussed in terms of the steric hindrance of the ethyl group with a rigid ring moiety based on the molecular structure optimized by DFT method.
