Titanium Carbide-Carbon Composite Nanofibers Prepared by Electrospinning Polyacrylonitrile
Titanium carbide (TiC)-carbon composite nanofibers with average diameter 90 nm have been successfully produced by electrospinning the precursors, titanium isopropoxide (Ti(Oi-Pr)(4)) in polyacrylonitrile (PAN) solution, and then pyrolysis of the resulting nanofibers. TiC formed by the reaction of Ti precursors with carbon during carbonizing and distributed homogeneously in the produced composite nanofibers may be useful to enhance the mechanical properties expand applicability.
