Crystallization of vitamin C under different experimental conditions
The economical crystallization of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) has great importance in the pharmaceutical industry. The properties of vitamin C make it difficult to produce this material with the required quality. Light sensitivity, rate of decay under the influence of both oxygen and excessive humidity and inclusion content are all functions of crystal size and habit.
