This article presents the results of an exergetic analysis conducted on an ammonia synthesis process by using and extending the capabilities of the functional analysis software of the ＇＇ASPEN PlusTM＇＇ processes. An exergetic analysis program was developed, which, from the results of an ASPEN PlusTM process simulation, computes to the total exergy for all process fluxes and estimates exergetic losses in each unit operation of the process.
