Volumetric properties of 2-pyrrolidone with aromatic hydrocarbons at T = (293.15, 303.15, 313.15, 323.15, 333.15, and 343.15) K
The experimental densities rho of binary Mixtures of 2-pyrrolidone with benzene, toluene. o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene have been measured at T = (293.15, 303.15. 313.15, 323.15, 333.15, and 343.15) K and atmospheric pressure over the whole mole fraction range. From these results, excess molar volumes V-E have been calculated and fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation. The VE values are negative over the whole mole fraction range and at all temperatures. Apparent molar volumes V,,,. and partial molar Volumes at infinite dilution, V-i(infinity) have been calculated. The variation of these properties with composition and temperature of the binary mixtures are discussed in terms of molecular interactions. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
