Regioselective Knitting of Aniline via ortho-C-N Bond Fusion Using OsO4 as a Template
This communication discloses the first examples of multiple ortho-C-arom-N bond construction in aniline. The chemical reaction between aniline and OsO4 has produced the higher homologues of aniline via ortho-C-N bond fusion. Formation of an open chain hexanilido ligand from the reaction clearly reveals the use of maximum possible coordination sites of the osmium template. The redox properties of the complexes are rich and have generated the possibilities of isolation of metal complexes containing organic radicals.
