Nazarov Type Cyclization on an Osmium-Dienylcarbene Complex
The presence of carbon monoxide in the dienylcarbene complex [Os{=c(CH=CHPh)(CH=CPh2)}(CO)(CH3CN)(2)((PPr3)-Pr-i)(2)][BF4](2) promotes a 4 pi conrotation of the dienylcarbene to afford [Os(=CCH2CPh2CPh=CH)(CO)(CH3CN)(2)((PPr3)-Pr-i)(2)][BF4](2) containing a cyclic atkenylcarbene ligand, via the eta(1)-cyclopentadienyt intermediate [Os(C= CHCPh2CPh=CH)(CO)(CH3CN)(2)((PPr3)-Pr-i)(2)]BF4.
