EFFECT OF SUCCESSIVE PARAFFIN DEPOSITION ON THE DEPOSITS AND COLD FLOW PROPERTIES OF BOMBAY-HIGH CRUDE-OIL AND PARAFFIN WAX SOLUTION
The rate of paraffin deposition of Bombay High crude oil and a paraffin wax solution under flowing condition in a horizontal pipe has been determined in order to study the nature and type of the successive paraffin deposits and their influence on the cold flow properties of the crude oil and of the paraffin wax solution in toluene. It has been observed that for both the crude oil and the wax solution, there exist a critical concentration of wax beyond which further increase in concentration does not have any appreciable effect on the pour point of the respective fluids as well as on the quantity and nature of the paraffin deposits.
