EFFECTS OF SUBSTITUTED N-(O-HYDROXYBENZYLIDENE) ON THE DISSOLUTION OF ALUMINUM IN HYDROCHLORIC-ACID SOLUTION
Dissolution rates of aluminium in hydrochloric acid solution containing substituted N-(o-hydroxybenzylidene) have been examined. Using three different techniques; weight loss, thermometric and gasometric. The inhibition character of the compounds depends on the concentration of the inhibitor as well as its chemical constitution. The efficiencies of the additives decrease with rise in temperature confirming the idea that the inhibition occurs through physical adsorption.
