Crude CNSL is very corrosive and is refined through decarboxylation. Effect of temperature, nitrogen atmosphere and. hydroquinone on the properties of CNSL has been studied experimentally for two types of crude CNSL. The results are useful since refining of CNSL in India is carried out mostly under uncontrolled conditions.
