Poly (vinyl alcohol)-assisted solvothermal growth of CdS dumbbells and necklaces
Novel dumbbell-like and necklace-like CdS was synthesized via a facile solvothermal route using poly (vinyl alcohol) as assistant agent. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence spectrophotometer. Based on time-resolved experiments and comparative experiments, a possible nonequilibrium-equilibrium growth mechanism was initially proposed.
