Electrochemical properties of C/LiMn2O4-ySy (0 <= y <= 0.1) composite cathode materials
The samples of LiMn2O4-ySy obtained by sol-gel method followed by calcination at 650 degrees C were tested as cathode in Li-Ion cells. Sulphur substitution resulted in improvement of the cell cyclability in comparison to the unsulphided Li-Mn spinels. The fine grains of the LiMn2O4-ySy spinels were covered by carbon conductive layer (CCL) using precipitation polimerization followed by calcination. Such a modification improved chemical stability of the CCL-Spinel composite towards electrolyte up to about 50 degrees C higher temperature than observed for uncovered spinels. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
