A Microfluidic Approach for the Formation of Conductive Nanowires and Hollow Hybrid Structures
A facile fabrication process for micro- and nanometer-scale hybrid structures employing a microfluidic reactor is described. The unique properties of hydrodynamic flow focusing are exploited to promote the formation of well-defined structures with dissimilar morphology and structure in a fast and simple way. The hybrid nanowires are potential candidates for nanometer-sized sensors due to their electrical conductivity and their ease of functionalization.
