Kinetic study on Zn(O,OH)S thin films deposited by chemical bath deposition
In this paper kinetic study for chemical bath deposition (CBD) of Zn(O,OH)S thin films was done. Zn(O,OH)S thin films were deposited from chemical bath containing thiourea, zinc acetate, sodium citrate and ammonia. The influence of synthesis conditions on the growth rate and morphological properties of the as-grown Zn(O,OH)S thin films are presented. The Avrami-Erofeev equation was used to study growth rate of Zn(O,OH)S thin film on different substrate types. It was found that the synthesis conditions affect significantly the growth rate and morphological properties of the layers. The structural analysis showed than the Zn(O,OH)S grown with a nano-crystalline structure with average values of grain size around 11 nm. A first approach to law initial rate of the growth is reported. The kinetic study indicates that the activation energy for the process was 33.06 kJ/mol. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
