Boiling of Dilute Emulsions-Toward a New Modeling Framework
Boding of emulsions is a field that has been studied little and is poorly understood. Experiments have shown that boiling in emulsion is a complex phenomenon and that a wide range of behaviors are possible A model of boiling emulsions put forward by one group of researchers provides some explanation for the behavior of emulsions but seems to be insufficiently detailed to provide deeper insight into the boiling process or prediction of boiling In this paper, a review of work to-date is presented We also suggest an alternative set of mechanisms for boiling in dilute emulsions It is shown how these mechanisms may be integrated into the Euler-Euler model of multiphase flow to describe the overall behavior of boiling emulsions
