Electrocatalytic Reduction of Sulfuric-Acid to Hydrogen-Sulfide by a Trinuclear Niobium Cluster
The trinuclear cluster anion [Nb3O2(SO4)6(H2O)3]5-catalyzes the reduction of 12 M H2SO4 to H2S at room temperature. The catalytic reduction can be achieved electrochemically on a mercury electrode at -1.2 V vs Hg/Hg2SO4 or chemically with Zn.
