Effects of fine Cr2O3 addition on Mg’s hydrogen-storage performance

We prepared nano-structured Cr2O3 by spray conversion, and we used it as an oxide to add to Mg to improve the hydriding and dehydriding rates of Mg. A sample Mg-10 wt% Cr2O3 by spray conversion was prepared by mechanical grinding under H2 (reactive mechanical grinding, RMG) in a planetary ball mill. We also prepared samples Mg-10 wt% Cr2O3 purchased, and pure Mg by RMG. The hydrogen-storage characteristics of these samples were investigated and compared.
