Molecular and Polymeric Compounds Resulting from Lewis-Acid Interactions with (Cpmo(Mu-S)N-T-Bu)2
The reaction of the electron-rich compound [CpMo(mu-S)(N-t-Bu)]2 (1) (Cp = C5H5) with iodine led to the formation of [CpMo(N-t-Bu)(mu-S-I2)]2 (2), in which iodine forms charge-transfer adducts with the bridging sulfido ligands. Structural features of 2 are described. The reaction of 1 with silver triflate resulted in the formation of a one-dimensional polymeric material {[CpMo(N-t-Bu)S]5[Ag(CH3-CN)OTf]3[AgOTf]2}x (3). Each mu-sulfido ligand is coordinated to two silver ions to give repeating Mo2-mu4-S-Ag2 units.
