((Men(Ch2Ch2Nme2)2Li)2Cl)(Hc(Sime2N(4-Ch3C6H4))3Sn), a Solvent-Separated Tripodal Tris(Amido)Stannate and a (Li2Cl)+ Cation Revisited
The synthesis and a single-crystal X-ray structure analysis of the tripodal (amido)-stannate [{MeN(CH2CH2NMe2)2Li}2Cl][HC{SiMe2N(4-CH3C6H4)}3Sn] (3) are reported. The lithium stannate crystallizes as a solvent-separated ion pair with an exposed Sn atom as part of a [2.2.2]bicyclooctane-derived cage structure. The counterion contains a bent [Li2Cl]+ unit [angle Li-Cl-Li’ = 143.1(6)-degrees].
