Permethyltitanocene Tellurides and Ditellurides - X-Ray Structures of ((C(5)Me(5))(2)Ti)(2)(Mu-Te) and (C(5)Me(5))(2)Ti(Eta(2)-Te-2)
Complexes with "naked" main group elements acting as ligands continue to attract a great deal of interest. Reported herein are the syntheses and structures of a telluride and a ditelluride derivative of permethyltitanocene and their interconversion. The eta(2)-ditelluride is a rare example of this type of complex and may be employed as a "Te-2" transfer agent when treated with some alkyl halides.
