Metal-Pteridine Complexes Having 3-Dimensional Hydrogen-Bonded Networks
The three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded (H-bonded) networks of metal-pteridine complexes are realized as the first examples which contain the following three intermolecular interactions : (1) H-bonding between coordinated water molecules and pteridine ligands; (2) a stacking interaction between the pteridine ligands; (3) H-bonding between the pteridine ligands. In this work, we selected lumazine (HLM) and pterin (HPR) as ligands and prepared the copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes [Cu(LM)(2)(H2O)(2)] (1), [Cu(PR)(2)(H2O)(2)] (2), and [Zn(PR)(2)(H2O)(2)].2H(2)O (3).
