Poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) Bearing Covalently Attached Cyclodextrin via Click-Chemistry: Synthesis, Characterization, and Complexation Behavior with Phenolphthalein
We report about modification of poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) with monofunetional beta-cyc o(lextrin (beta CD) via click-chemisti y The modification was carried out by copper(I)-catalyzed microwave assisted Fluisgen-type cycloaddition of 3-propargyl-N-vmylpyrrohdone (2a) and mono(6-azado-6deoxy)13-cyclodextrin (3) We synthesized a copolymer (5) carrying Cl) moieties which has the same composition as the applied molai I atio of monomers Complexation experiments of the obtained polymer (5) with phenolphthalein (PP) showed a lower binding constant compared to beta CD caused by stencal effects of the polymer cod
