Polythiophene: fullerene bulk-heterojunction solar cells are fabricated on a one-dimensional photoresist grating of 2 mu m pitch and 300 nm height. These dimensions ensure conformal coating of the photovoltaic active-layer and lead to higher power conversion efficiency due to light-trapping, especially for higher wavelength photons.
