Ferrocene-Substituted Amidinate Derivatives - Syntheses and Crystal-Structures of Lithium, Iron(II), and Cobalt(II) Complexes
The ferrocene-containing amidinate anion FcC(NCy)(2)](-) (Fc=ferrocenyl) is obtained by the reaction of N,N’-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide with FcLi in THF/hexanes. The lithium derivative reacts with 1/2 equiv of FeCl2 or CoBr2 to afford the trimetallic derivatives [FcC(NCy)(2)](2)M . nE(t)2O. X-ray crystal structures of the Li, Fe(II), and Co(II) derivatives are reported.
