[Pt2Cl2(mu(2)-O-2)(2)([9]aneN(3))(2)]Cl-2 : A novel platinum(VI) dimer with two bridging peroxo ligands that provides insight into the mechanism of aerial oxidation of platinum(II)
[Pt2Cl2(mu(2)-O-2)(2)([9]aneN(3))(2)]Cl-2. 4H(2)O, formed by reaction of cis-[PtCl2(dmso)(2)] (dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide) and 1,4,7-triazacyclononane ([9]aneN(3)) under aerobic conditions in wet ethanol solution, is the first structurally characterized:Pt(IV) complex where two metal centers are bridged by two (mu(2)) peroxo ligands and only the second such transition metal complex.
