Decontamination of Chemical Warfare Agents Using Household Chemicals
Chemical warfare agents (CWA) such as VX (a V-type nerve agent), GD (a G-type nerve agent), and HD (a blister agent) are readily decontaminated using common household chemicals, such as ammonia-based cleaners, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, washing soda, and rubbing alcohol, thus providing safe, cost-effective decontamination capability that is accessible to the general public.
