A Simple Antiwindup Method
This paper describes a method for antiwindup by resetting the integrator to a normal value whenever the control error crosses zero and the integrator has an unusually large value. The method is simple and efficient and easy to implement. It needs two design parameters, a normal integrator value and a windup limit, both of which are easily obtained. The values need not be known very precisely; in fact only crude approximations are required.
